Perfection

What is perfection?
What makes one person perfect compared to another
What is perceived as perfection to one
Can be utter chaos to another
When does someone go wrong in life
How do you loose this perfection
What is it to be perfect anywise
One person told me I was perfect
That was the first time in my life someone had said this
It made me feel very special
Someone told me they were so attached to me that it hurt to part
Sometimes tears would fall from your eyes
When you took me home
So simple and innocent it seemed
When two people fall deeply in love with one another
When two people see each other as perfect
You told me once that you wanted to call me your wife instead of girlfriend
And that took my breath away
Day after day
Spending each moment I could with you
I fell deeper and deeper
Into love with you
Now that you have my heart
Always and constantly
What will you do?
Will you find your happiness?
What do you want?
What do you need?
There was a time when you told me I was perfect
Am I still so perfect?
You are so very perfect
In this imperfect world
No light shines in you now
You are too ill to care about all else
Now is the time for you my dear
Now it is time for you to be well
And me to hide, away from the perfect darkness that consumes me
The darkness makes the pain worse
I ask again
What is perfection?
How can you get it back when you have lost it somehow
How do you win when you feel you are loosing?
In this imperfect world
You are still perfect to me
Even if I must dwell in the shadows
Alone and in pain
